Enrichment and Extra-Curricular Opportunities

At Mount Charles School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our enrichment and extra-curricular programme gives children opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence and experience activities that complement their learning in school.

Clubs and Activities

Our Autumn 2026 programme will offer a varied range of clubs and activities, with opportunities for children to get involved in sport, music, creativity, science and much more.

Our planned clubs include:

  • Choir Club

  • Football Club

  • Arts and Craft Club

  • Science Club

We are continuing to develop our programme and will offer a range of activities that encourage children to try something new, develop their skills and have fun with their friends.

Educational Visits and Enrichment

Our programme of educational visits is also expanding this academic year, thanks to funding from the Clore Duffield Foundation.

The Clore Duffield Foundation is supporting schools in Cornwall to provide a high-quality programme of school trips, helping children access enriching experiences that they might otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy. The funding covers the full cost of participating trips, enabling schools to broaden and transform their existing trips programme.

For our children, this means more opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, experience arts, culture, heritage, science and the natural world, and make memorable experiences together.

Across the academic year, our children will have opportunities to visit a wide range of places, including museums, galleries, theatres, zoos, heritage sites, gardens and activity centres.

Our planned visits for 2026–27 include:

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our enrichment programme is an important part of life at Mount Charles School. Whether children are singing in a choir, investigating the world through science, developing sporting skills, creating something in an arts and craft club or exploring Cornwall and beyond on a school visit, we want every child to have opportunities to discover, experience, create and achieve.
