Earlier this month, our headteacher Mrs Simpson announced that Mount Charles School had been awarded a grant that would allow every learner in every year group to enjoy 6 trips this academic year.

On Friday 18th September, the first of those trips took place. Years 5 and 6 went coasteering with local organisation Newquay Activity Centre.

The weather was typically autumnal, but it didn’t dampen the pupils’ spirits. In fact, this sport is even more adventurous in the rain!

Coasteering involves climbing over rocks, jumping into the sea, swimming, exploring caves, discovering hidden beaches and much more. The aim is to move along a rocky coastline without the aid of boats or boards.

And they are not alone. All our pupils had a whale of a time, and they were perfect ambassadors for school and community.
