Welcome to 5N
Happy New Year!
We were impressed with the hard work that the children did last term. We hope to build on that and continue to have fun too.

Year 5 have produced these beautiful paintings after looking at the work of the artist Gustav Klimt and studying the classic poem The Highwayman. We picked out shapes and patterns from Klimt's work and then added collage to master his technique.
An artist came in and helped the children to design and make a Viking ship and lanterns for the Torchlight Carnival. Overall we came third, well done to all the Year 5's and thank you to all parents who came and helped.
As part of our English topic, we made dragon eyes out of clay. Look how amazing they are!!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! The Vikings visited us on Monday 2nd October. We held weapons, pushed against shield walls, watched a re-enactment of a Viking battle, we tried on warrior armour and saw lots of interesting artefacts!
In Week 2 we had a fantastic trip to Heligan to visit the Mud Maid and The Giant. We collected words and used them to write stories and poems. They made a lovely display. Have a look.
Here is an overview of our curriculum. If you would like to find out more about what we do, please book an appointment with the class teacher.
